Create And Configure Shifts In EMERGE

This tutorial guides you through creating and configuring shifts within the appointments system. You will learn how to set shift times, repeat frequencies, and appointment type rules to manage your schedule effectively.

2. Open Appointments Window

To start, to create your shifts, you're going to go into your appointments window. From here, you're going to turn on

3. Activate Shifts Toggle

The view shifts toggle.

4. Select Shift Start Time

Next, you're going to select the start time for your shift. It will open in the create shift window.

5. Select Shift End Time

From here, you're going to select the end time of your shift.

6. Choose Shift Start Hour

Choose the hour for the shift start time.

7. Open Time Period Menu

Open the time period menu to select AM or PM.

8. Select Time Period

Select the time period for the shift start time.

9. Open Shift Repeat Dropdown

Open the dropdown menu to set how often the shift repeats.

10. Set Shift Repeat Frequency

You can select from the drop down menu how frequently this shift repeats. If it's a one-off shift, select does not repeat. If it repeats more frequently, you have the options of repeat daily, repeat monthly, repeat weekly, or repeat indefinitely.

11. Define Appointment Type Rules

Next, you're going to set the appointment type rules for your shift.

12. Choose Appointment Types

From the drop-down menu of your created appointment types, you will select which appointment types are available during this shift. You can select as many or as few of appointment types you would like.

13. Confirm Shift Creation

Once you've selected your appointment type rules and you're ready to create your shift, select the create shift button.

14. Complete Shift Creation

Congratulations, you've completed creating a shift.

15. Open Settings Menu

Click the tune icon to open settings.

17. Verify Practitioner Shift Feature

To create shifts, you have to make sure your practitioner has the use shift feature available in their availability.

18. Access Appointment Settings

This can be set up under appointment settings and under the doctor's practitioners heading. To

19. Enable Use Shifts Feature

Enable the use of shifts. You'll select the doctors practitioners category, scroll down to the provider, and to use the shift feature, make sure that the use shifts is turned on.

20. Save Shift Feature Settings

Then you're going to make sure this feature is saved.

You have successfully created and configured shifts, including setting appointment types and enabling the shift feature for practitioners. Next, you can manage your shifts or customize appointment settings further.
