1. Introduction

You will learn the step-by-step process to effectively connect and conduct virtual appointments on EMERGE.

Introduction

2. Open Appointment Menu

To view your list of appointments, click on the Appointments tab in the left-side menu. You can also choose your preferred display option, such as daily or weekly.

3. Select Patient Appointment

When you are ready to join the virtual appointment, click on the appointment you wish to start. On the appointment details, you’ll find important information: A white check mark indicates that the patient is registered. If there is no check mark, it means the patient has yet to take the steps necessary to access the appointment. A pulsing circle signifies that the patient is currently in the virtual waiting room.

Pro tip: if there's no check mark, there’s no need to attempt starting the appointment, as the patient is not on the platform.

4. Access Appointment Options

After selecting the appointment, click on the "Start Consultation" button.

9. End Virtual Appointment

Click "Finish appointment" to conclude the virtual session once the consultation is complete. This step is crucial as it marks the appointment as completed on the platform. If you haven't completed your notes, you can revisit the patient profile later to finalize them.

10. Access Post-Appointment Options

Marking the appointment as completed will finalize it. If you select "not completed," the appointment will be recorded as a no-show—this action is irreversible, so please proceed with caution.

Immediately following your appointment, you will be prompted to select the billing type. If it’s OHIP, simply click continue.
