5. Click on the Templates Button
Click the star icon to access the templates menu.
6. Create New Template
A new side menu will appear, allowing you to view your existing templates. You can filter by "My Templates" or "Clinic-Wide Templates," and create new templates using the button located at the top right.
7. Enter Template Name
When creating a new template, begin by entering a descriptive name that will help you easily identify it.
8. Select Template Category
In the visibility settings, you can opt to create a template exclusively for yourself by selecting "My Template," or, if you have the appropriate user permissions, you can create a clinic-wide template.
9. Enter Details
Please enter the template details. You can either type or copy and paste any existing templates you have.
10. Additional Settings
At the top, you'll find the editing menu, which allows you to adjust text size, color, boldness, and more. You also have access to variables and snippets within the templates.
11. Using Variables
To add clinic variables or create customized variables, click the variables icon.
11.1 Using Variables
You can discover various variables to enhance your note-taking efficiency. Information such as CPP, patient details, and clinic data can be added as variables, allowing the system to automatically populate these elements into your notes.
12. Select from the Variables List
For instance, you can select the Medical Conditions variable, which automatically extracts all relevant patient data from that field and integrates it into the note.
13. Confirm Variables
Click Confirm to save your variable in the template.
14. System Variables
The system will create a variable within the note that, once applied, will automatically populate with live information from the patient profile.
15. Creating Custom Variables
You have the ability to create custom variables according to your needs. For instance, if you frequently prescribe a specific medication, you can establish a variable that enables you to select from the options you've created within the clinical note.
16. Add Custom Variables
To create a new variable, simply type the desired name and then click the plus sign.
17. Add more Custom Variables
Next, repeat the process for the subsequent variable.
18. Confirm Adding Variables
Both variables you created (and potentially more) will be highlighted in blue. This indicates that once you confirm and add them to your note, they will be available as a dropdown menu for you to select from those variables.
19. How Personalized Variables Displays
This is how created variables will appear, featuring an arrow to indicate a dropdown selection.
20. Save your New Note Template
Once you have finished creating your template, you can click save.
21. Click Apply to Select Template
When you're all set to add your template to a clinical note, just give that apply button a click!
22. Insert Template Into Notes
You will see a temporary screen displaying all the variables associated with that patient. You can either select the variables you created on this screen or allow the system to choose them within the notes themselves. Click on "Insert into Notes" to add this note to the patient's clinical note section.
23. Select Variable Placeholder
Click the variable placeholder to customize the inserted content.
24. Enter Note Reason
Enter the reason or purpose for the clinical note.
25. Save Clinical Note
Click Save to finalize and store the clinical note in the patient's record.
